Do you know anything about Bada OS? Have you heard about it? If not, then here?s a bit of info: Bada OS is a mobile operating system that is being developed by Samsung Electronics for its smartphones. This was first introduced last November 10, 2009 and according to Korea Herald, this OS is set to challenge Google?s Android phone platform.

Samsung Wave s8500

However, the phone handsets which will be based on this OS are expected to be displayed early in the first half of 2010. So, if you are excited about trying this new mobile operating system, then you better watch out for the release of the first Bada-based phone on April 2010 ? the Samsung Wave S8500.

One of Mobile World Congress? first smartphones which is expected to debut early this year is the new Wave 8500 from Samsung. It?s the first to ship not only with a Bada OS but also with Bluetooth 3.0. It?s full-packed with other great features such as 802.11n WiFi, TouchWiz 3.0, and 3.3-inch Super AMOLED display. As for the internal, it boasts a 5 megapixel camera, aGPS, 2GB or 8GB of internal memory, 1GHz processor, multi-codec support for DivX, XviD, MP3 and WMV, micro-SD expansion slot, and support for virtual 5.1 surround sound and 720p recording / decoding.

There is really a lot to forward to in this first Bada OS phone. Unfortunately, there?s still no word about pricing so you won?t be able to compare it to other mobile phones just yet. But for now, you can always check other Samsung Smartphone at Amazon to see more options.

Google ventured into new territory on Monday with the launch of a new URL-shortening service it’s calling Goo.gl.

Unlike some existing and high-profile shorteners such as TinyURL and Bit.ly, Goo.gl is not a general-purpose link shrinker that users can access by going to a standalone site. Instead, it’s been built into Google products, beginning with Google’s browser toolbar and its Feedburner RSS service. Both of those services can now create shortened Goo.gl URLs that link to the source content while using fewer characters. This is especially important for sharing on places like Twitter, where there are size limits.

The feature goes hand in hand with the launch of a share button for the Google toolbar that lets users share whatever page they’re on with a number of social services. As for its integration with FeedBurner, Google now provides feed owners with a way to automatically publish certain posts directly to Twitter, which will again help keep the number of characters to a minimum.

Google says the shortening service is both fast and stable. The company has also placed the same security measures that go into its search index to block pages that may contain malware or phishing schemes.
In an introductory post on its official blog, Google said that it may eventually roll out the service as a standalone site, but that for now it’s being built into Google products. Such a feature would likely allow third party sites to build Goo.gl link shortening into their own products. In the meantime, other Google properties that could certainly benefit from having link shortening built-in include YouTube, Maps, Reader, and Blogger–many of which have integrated sharing features.

Update 2 p.m. PST: As we should have mentioned before, .gl is the top-level domain for Greenland. Also, Google’s launch comes on the heels of Facebook having quietly launched its own URL-shortening service called FB.me. Heading there in your browser simply takes you to Facebook’s home page, whereas sharing links through Facebook’s mobile site will shorten them for you using a shortened FB.me URL. More on that as soon as Facebook publicly acknowledges its existence.

Google URL Shortener

Visitors of Goo.gl get this page, which tells them what the service does, although will not let just anyone create shortened URLs. Instead, Google is allowing use of its service through its own products.

Super Talent Technology today announced what it claimed is the industry’s first USB 3.0 compliant flash drive, which can support data transfer rates of 5Gbit/sec — 10 times faster than current USB 2.0 products.

Super Talent’s SuperSpeed USB 3.0 RAIDDrive comes in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB capacities.

Measuring 3.7 inches by 1.4 inches — and a half inch thick — the SuperSpeed drive plugs directly into any USB port and can deliver data transfer speeds up to 200MB/sec in USB 3.0 ports compared with 480Mbit/sec that USB 2.0 supports. The drive is fully backward compatible with USB 2.0 ports, but it will operate at USB 2.0’s slower I/O speeds.

Super Talent's SuperSpeed USB 3.0 RAIDDrive

Super Talent said it uses a special technology in the SuperSpeed drive that involves multiple RAID pairs containing differential serial data channels. When a system is equipped with both a special USB Attached SCSI (UAS) driver and USB 3.0 ports, the drive can achieve up to 200MB/sec transfer speeds.

The SuperSpeed USB 3.0 RAIDDrive will be available in December from Super Talent resellers worldwide.

Super Talent has not made any pricing information available on the drive.

The world’s first laptop with twin monitors is slated to hit the stores by the end of the year.

The dual-screen laptop, entitled Spacebook, was masterminded by Alaska-based technology firm gScreen.

The pioneering technology, that will let users to multi-task while on the move, will have two 15.4 in screens, reports the Telegraph.

The PC is estimated to cost enthusiasts around 3,000 dollars but not without concerns regarding the weight of the Spacebook and the pressure on the batteries to meet the energy demands of running two screens.

Gordon Stewart, the founder of gScreen, told US technology website Gizmodo, that the gadget could be expected to be up for grabs on Amazon by December this year, provided final modifications had been dealt with.

He said: “We designed this knowing that many may not need the extra screen at all times.”

The dual-screen laptop is aimed at professional video editors, photographers and designers who need to flick between different applications to carry out their work.

Spacebook is thought to be the first of its kind with twin screens of equal size.

The technology titan tries to stop Google Docs from encroaching on its turf.

By Alex Pham

July 14, 2009

Everyone predicted Microsoft Corp. wouldn’t take long to fire back against Google Inc.’s latest foray into its home turf.

It took less than a week.

On Monday, Microsoft said it would offer a free version of its popular Office software suite that would run on the Internet.

The Redmond, Wash., company didn’t mention its archrival by name, but analysts saw Monday’s move as a strategy by Microsoft to protect one of its most profitable businesses against Google, which already dominates the Internet search market.

The Web-based version of the Office suite will be available next year.

“Microsoft was forced to provide a free product” as an answer to Google Docs, a suite of free, browser-based document and spreadsheet editing software, said Sheri McLeish, an analyst with Forrester Research. “It’s a very competitive market out there, and this was Microsoft’s opportunity to one-up Google by offering a much better product.”

The announcement, made at Microsoft’s developers conference in New Orleans, is the latest tit-for-tat in an intense competition between the two technology giants.

The Mountain View, Calif., search giant said last week that it would develop an operating system designed to attract users away from personal computers, where Microsoft is ubiquitous. Google’s Chrome OS and software would run on the Internet, where Google has a commanding share of the Web audience.

Last month Microsoft released Bing, its answer to Google’s popular search engine.

By giving away versions of its Office software, Microsoft risks cannibalizing one of its most profitable products. The company’s business software division, which includes Office, made $9.3 billion in profit from $14.3 billion in sales during the first three quarters of its 2009 fiscal year. The unit also has revenue from other software applications and services such as Microsoft Exchange, but the bulk of its sales comes from Office, which includes the Word and Excel applications.

About 80% of companies recently surveyed by Forrester use Microsoft’s Office. Less than 8% use other document editing software, including IBM Corp.’s Lotus Symphony, Sun Microsystems Inc.’s StarOffice and Google Docs.

For Microsoft, the imperative is to maintain its dominance, according to Melissa Webster, an analyst with IDC. She said a recent survey found that nearly everyone who used Web-based document editing software such as Google Docs also used Microsoft Office.

Many, for example, create a document using Excel, then upload it to the Web to share with colleagues, who may read and edit the spreadsheet using a Web-based program such as Zoho Sheet or Google Docs.

“Web-based tools are not taking share away from Microsoft’s desktop Office suite,” Webster said. “But to the extent that these products are complementary, Microsoft needs to get in the game. They risk losing users as people get more comfortable using Web-based tools. And they risk losing their edge.”

Microsoft’s group product manager for Office, Chris Bryant, said its customers were increasingly using the Web to share and edit documents.

“It’s something our users have said they’d like,” Bryant said. “Customers are telling us they expect to use the Web-based applications as companions to their desktop software.”

Bryant declined to outline how Microsoft would make money with the move, but hinted that business models could include advertising and fees for premium services such as online storage of large files.

The free versions won’t include all the features of the desktop software, priced between $70 for a basic student version and about $350 for the professional version. For the upcoming software suite Office 2010, Microsoft plans to let users edit video in PowerPoint and manipulate images in Word — features that would be unavailable in the free versions.

Investors didn’t appear to be concerned about Microsoft’s proposed giveaway. On Monday its shares gained 84 cents, or 3.7%, to close at $23.23.

Pardon the cliche, but it’s one of the holiest of Holy Grails of technology: Wireless power. And while early lab experiments have been able to “beam” electricity a few feet to power a light bulb, the day when our laptops and cell phones can charge without having to plug them in to a wall socket still seems decades in the future.

Nokia, however, has taken another baby step in that direction with the invention of a cell phone that recharges itself using a unique system: It harvests ambient radio waves from the air, and turns that energy into usable power. Enough, at least, to keep a cell phone from running out of juice.

While “traditional” (if there is such a thing) wireless power systems are specifically designed with a transmitter and receiver in mind, Nokia’s system isn’t finicky about where it gets its wireless waves. TV, radio, other mobile phone systems — all of this stuff just bounces around the air and most of it is wasted, absorbed into the environment or scattered into the ether. Nokia picks up all the bits and pieces of these waves and uses the collected electromagnetic energy to create electrical current, then uses that to recharge the phone’s battery. A huge range of frequencies can be utilized by the system (there’s no other way, really, as the energy in any given wave is infinitesimal). It’s the same idea that Tesla was exploring 100 years ago, just on a tiny scale.

Mind you, harvesting ambient electromagnetic energy is never going to offer enough electricity to power your whole house or office, but it just might be enough to keep a cell phone alive and kicking. Currently Nokia is able to harvest all of 5 milliwatts from the air; the goal is to increase that to 20 milliwatts in the short term and 50 milliwatts down the line. That wouldn’t be enough to keep the phone alive during an active call, but would be enough to slowly recharge the cell phone battery while it’s in standby mode, theoretically offering infinite power — provided you’re not stuck deep underground where radio waves can’t penetrate.

Nokia says it hopes to commercialize the technology in three to five years.

This directly promotes the sales and the website gains in aspects, the money as well as rank in the search engine directory.

The website content can play the major role in attracting the reader audiences. The simple content makes the website easily crawled in the search engine directory. The use of keywords phrases and tags are all meant to be placed simply in the website pages. The website content in seo services is critical, that is it should be performed smartly and with easy brains. Thinking of using complicated language and rich literature will make the reader run away, rather if the website content is simple, the reader feels like reading it again and again and get convinced for the statement, than of course the content is ideally perfect. Some weak points of content should also be cared, first thing is spellings, no matter if the reader himself is unable to read properly, he would like to have the text properly presented. Minor spelling mistakes, use of impropriate language will make the reader not interested, so it is always recommended to use good language terms and simple words so the reader feels comfortable to go through it.

Content is one part of the website that means a lot to the seo services, it is believed that website design and website content go parallel. Though all the parts are equally treated and all of them have their own values, but content is believed to be the king of seo as it is the most in quantity and quality. Website content has no formula; it is all done with brains. The website content is all extract of good use of keywords, correct knowledge, focused statements and reader audiences’ convenience. Content in seo services is enhances changed and aligned according to the website design. The website content is king of seo because it ranges in variety for changes and improvement. Complete impact on the reader audiences of the website and its product or service is all defined by its content.

The content of a website means a lot to the website owner, an owner usually to make his website perfect hires seo services to get rich content and appear unique. The website content needs to be unique and different from others, simplicity of words doesn’t mean it gets rough and dull; rather it gives a concept of direct and focus approach to the targeted audiences. For better results and higher ranking, contents needs to be treated in calculated intervals and the website must be updated to give the reader audience a fresh page every time he wants to get information.
